Our public consultation has closed and we submitted our application to the Planning Inspectorate 14 January 2016. Download our January 2016 newsletter to find out more about the proposals we submitted to the Planning Inspectorate. 

Over the last six months, a panel of four inspectors (the Examining Authority) appointed by the Planning Inspectorate (the Government Agency responsible for nationally significant infrastructure project planning applications) has examined our application. As part of this process, a series of hearings took place, where stakeholders, landowners, tenants and members of the public provided feedback on our application.

The Planning Inspectorate will now have three months to make a recommendation to the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy as to whether or not the application should be approved.  The Secretary of State will then have a further three months to make the final decision.

Copies of the documents, plans and maps can be provided on request from richboroughconnection@communitycomms.co.uk or by telephone 0800 157 7878.  A reasonable copying charge will apply (up to a maximum of £1,000) for supplying a hard copy of the full suite of application documents.  There is a charge of £10 for supplying an electronic copy on a USB memory stick.  Copies of individual documents are also available on request.  A reasonable charge may be applied.
